TARQUINIA NECROPOLIS AND MUSEUM & TUSCANIA PRIVATE TOUR
Not far from Rome and very close to the port of Civitavecchia, it is a valley of very ancient times, where the Etruscans settled in before reaching Rome, all the while giving to the Eternal city a touch of their art and traditions!
PICK UP TIME Suggested 7:30 am mainly to avoid big crowds at least in the first part of the morning (it is flexible and can you decide when). Returning back to the port at 4:30 pm (making sure we have plenty of time not to miss the ship)
TARQUINIA ETRUSCAN NECROPOLIS After about a 30-minute drive you will reach the site of the Etruscan tombs! It may seem like it’s just a field of olive trees but be careful because hidden by the shade of the centenary plants you will spot the entrances to this archaeological jewelry.
TARQUINIA ETRUSCAN MUSEUM Another gem in the little town of Tarquinia. Only if you combine the visit to the tombs with the museum visit you can really absorb at its best the splendor of the ancient Etruscan Civilization!
TARQUINIA: THE TOWN After the more demanding visit of the Archaeological part of the town, please find the time to explore the other parts of it. Go for a walk through its little streets and don’t miss out the wonderful view of the BELVEDERE!
TIME FOR LUNCH This would be something you will never find on your own. A spotless trattoria in the middle of nowhere that most likely will open just for us! Just give it a chance, you won’t be disappointed.
TUSCANIA After all of that, incredibly the day is not over yet! Just a little further north is another unique town of Etruscan Origin where you will go to experience its quiet, peaceful and wonderful views.
CHURCH OF SAINT PETER Not the most famous one, but a little non-consecrated church in the middle of the Etruscan countryside. You will not believe your eyes. Even Romeo and Juliet by Zeffirelli was filmed in it. You’ll be surely impressed.
Ride back to the port, aiming at arriving by 04:30 pm
